Newt Cottage

The Living Room

Step back in time into this pretty room, with a fire blazing in the old Tweed range and afternoon tea and cake laid ready for you. Light floods in from south facing sash windows overlooking the beautiful cottage garden. The original ceiling hooks hang from exposed beams and there is a traditional airer above the fireplace.

On one wall hangs a large wool rug, hand spun from the fleece of sheep in the field next to Newt Cottage. The natural pine floor and doors are enhanced by eco-friendly wood oil and the room is a gentle tone of environmentally friendly emulsion. A viewing panel shows the sheep’s wool insulation we’ve used to keep the room cosy.

To ensure there are modern comforts as well, the cottage has central heating, a wide screen television, DVD and video player, CD/radio/cassette player, telephone and Wi-fi access.
